Ethical Hacking and Network

Overview:

Almost all applications these days are network enabled. Getting an understanding on how hackers work goes a long way not only in designing secure applications and but also making sure other applications on which one depends are also setup right. This workshop is designed for prospective ethical hackers as well as engineers/managers who develop/test/deploy products and services which use a network.

Target Audience:

  • Development or QA Engineers who work or may get a chance to work on developing/testing application software which are network based.
  • Candidates are expected to know the basics of networking and preferably have some experience of having written/tested network based applications.

  • Hiding IP Address, tracing an IP Address
  • Network Reconnaissance
    • Ping sweeping, Traceroute, firewall detection etc.
  • Port Scanning
  • Daemon Banner Grabbing and Port Enumeration
  • ICMP Scanning
  • Firewall Enumeration
  • OS Detection
    • Active and passive OS fingerprinting, Advanced techniques, countermeasures
  • Introduction to Sniffers
  • Types of attacks – examining some attacks in detail (EXE Binders, Input validation, SQL injection…), countermeasures
  • Secure coding practices

Duration: 3 days (about 3 hrs each)
